Elizabeth Ruiz has spent more than four decades doing both.

She believes leadership isn’t about titles or positions, it’s about compassion, courage, and the willingness to step forward when others need you most. That belief has shaped her life’s work across education, business, nonprofit service, and youth empowerment.

And it’s the reason NextGen Leaders Academy was born.

Her Story

Elizabeth’s journey began long before launching an academy.

As a lifelong leader, educator, author, and mentor, she saw the same pattern again and again:

Bright, capable young people who lacked confidence, guidance, or opportunity.

She realized something powerful:

Schools teach academics.
Life demands leadership.

But very few children are ever taught how to:
• Speak with confidence
• Lead a team
• Manage emotions
• Solve real-world problems
• Or believe in themselves

So she decided to change that.

Why NextGen Leaders Academy Exists

Elizabeth created NextGen Leaders Academy to give youth what she wishes every child received earlier:

Not through lectures, but through action.

Through hands-on learning, service, teamwork, and meaningful challenges, students don’t just learn leadership; they also develop it.

A Heart for Service

Elizabeth’s work extends beyond the classroom.

She is deeply committed to serving vulnerable communities and ensuring opportunity for every child, especially those facing hardship.

Through scholarships and sponsorships, youth in foster care and shelters attend programs free of charge.

Because in her words:

“Leadership should never depend on circumstance. Every child deserves the chance to discover what they’re capable of.”

Her leadership philosophy also guides her broader nonprofit and humanitarian work through Healing Through Action, where compassion, education, and action converge to protect and uplift people and animals in need.
